2016 Oscars Will Feature Two Hosts

The 88th Academy Awards show is apparently looking for two stars to host the 2016 ceremony, according to producer David Hill. Hill told EW that there ‘will be multiple hosts for sure’ before confirming that two hosts will definitely run the Oscars.

When he was asked why two hosts, Hill said that ‘two is better than one’ and jokingly explained that if something were to happen to one of them, the other would be able to continue with the show.

Here’s what he said:

“Just imagine, you’re in there. One of your hosts drops dead from cardiac arrest. What do you do? Second host goes on! And you keep going. … Note to self. Check out their heart rates.”

While some believe that the producers have already found two hosts, others think that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who hosted the Golden Globes for three consecutive years, could be the perfect choice, as well as other comedy duos such as Comedy Central’s Keegan Michael-Kay and Jordan Peele.

Although Hill was secretive about the whole thing, he said that fellow-producer Reginald Hudlin and he could imagine themselves in the roles perfectly – if they don’t find a suitable pair to host the Oscars.
