2. John Travolta

Pulp Fiction is one of the best examples of great comebacks of all times. Not only John Travolta made a big splash with the role of Vincent Vega, but the movie, and his role too, received almost universal critical acclaim. The role became iconic, as did his dance at the Jack Rabbit Slim’s. Travolta received an Academy Award nomination for the role, but lost to Tom Hanks.

Travolta, of course, rose to prominence in the 1970’s, with cult movies Saturday Night Fever and Grease. He became immensely popular but then disappeared for over a decade. When he appeared alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction, everyone was like “Whoa! Where did you come from?!”

After his great comeback with Pulp Fiction, he pulled off a couple of fairly to very successful roles, most notably in movies Face/Off, Swordfish and Wild Hogs.
