Ben Affleck Says He Really Likes The New Batman Movie So Far

Fans of the Dark Knight will finally have the chance to see Ben Affleck as the new Batman in spring 2016. Most people are still wondering what the movie will look like and some are very skeptical about what to expect from Affleck’s portrayal of the Dark Knight in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. His close friend Matt Damon had a few words to say on the matter.

When interviewed by Variety, Matt was asked about Affleck’s part in the film and whether he plans to join him in the world of comic book movies. He replied that Affleck has had the opportunity to see an early cut of the film and that he is very pleased with how it looks so far. He also commented that he doubts he’ll be joining the comic book movie industry as there “aren’t any comic book characters left.”

So, while it’s unlikely that fans will be able to see Affleck and Damon as a superhero team anywhere in the near future, it’s good news that Affleck likes how the movie is developing. The actor hasn’t hesitated to share details about the film whenever he was asked about it, and one of the interesting things he shared with fans is that this version will be much different than Christopher Nolan’s take on the Dark Knight.

For example, Affleck revealed that the reason Bruce Wayne chooses to indulge in a playboy lifestyle is because of a certain level of emptiness, which stems from years of putting criminals away, leaving Batman significantly frustrated in his fight for justice.

He also discussed how his own character is nothing like the one Nolan produced, and that this time around, they stuck much closer to the comic book version of the character. He commented that Nolan’s version attempted to tell a finite story and that this version is different and more faithful to the original Batman mythology.

And finally, the actor revealed that the new film will include various other superheroes in action. This is yet another aspect that distances this film from Nolan’s original trilogy, seeing as Nolan did not include any superheroes apart from Batman.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016. The movie is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
